Alex Paige has survived plenty, but she never expected a trip to her best friend’s wedding to be marred by murder.
A celebration on Lake Michigan quickly unravels when her vengeful ex-boyfriend just won’t stay out of her life. A man who haunts her across state lines, his troubling behavior escalates from mere coincidence to menacing confrontation.
But when his body is washed ashore near the marina, Alex is thrust into the center of a chilling investigation where friends, foes, and lake currents twist around secrets that refuse to stay submerged.
Fighting to prove her innocence, Alex uncovers links between her ex’s death, an historic shipwreck, and a ruthless man’s obsession with treasures hidden in the lake’s depths.
Racing against time, Alex follows a dangerous trail of clues weaving from distant shores to Lake Michigan’s murky waters. To survive, she must expose the killer, or risk becoming the next victim claimed by the lake.
With secrets that refuse to stay buried and villains you’ll love to hate, Menace at the Marina will keep you hooked until the last page.

Menace at the Marina: An Alex Paige Cozy Travel Mystery Book 6 (Alex Paige Travel Mysteries), my first read from author Theresa L. Carter. An enjoyable well-written, 185-page mystery. When the book was advertised at $.99, set on Lake Michigan, in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, I decided to give it a whirl and bought it. Although the Michigan (state) connection isn't strong, the book was very good, so well worth my investment. Now I'm voluntarily leaving a review." I'll read more from this author as I acquire them, next up is book #1 in the series Peril on the Peninsula: An Alex Paige Cozy Travel Mystery Book 1 (Alex Paige Travel Mysteries). (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
This was an entertaining cozy mystery. I thought the characters were well described, believable and a good mix of different personalities. The plot moved quickly while adding in a few interesting subplots.I received a free advance copy from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest.
I enjoyed reading this book. I found the mystery to be interesting and my attention was kept throughout the story. I will definitely be looking for more books by this author!
Whenever I open an Alex Paige Mystery, I know that I am in for a few hours of relaxation while I read a delightful mystery. Although it is not unusual to be entertained by a book, it is not quite as common to also glean ideas for travel goals. Little did I know when I opened the book that I would soon be planning a trip to Sheboygan Wisconsin of all places. Surfing? Shipwreck sanctuary (one carrying 256 Nash automobiles)? Book-themed garden? In Wisconsin??!! I'm in - not that I would ever surf or dive, but those spots would be fun to see and I would definitely explore that book-themed garden. But, I digress. Back to Menace at the Marina. Theresa Carter has created a cast of characters that we have grown to love. We have watched their lives unfold over the past five books and we are ready to see what will happen next. We know that there will be twists and turns and a mystery that we can try to solve ourselves (although we probably won't predict what's coming). Carter writes, "Alex shook her head again at the two of them, and how they both seemed to delight in surprising people. 'We love seeing unexpected joy,' William had explained." I would like to say that we glean unexpected joy from reading the Alex Paige Mysteries, but, by now, it is "expected joy" and that is better yet.
Had an arc copy. love the characters. believable plot. would love to travel with this group. read them all to have the back story on each character
